Your manuscript now goes through a review process before it becomes visible to other users. While it's being reviewed, you'll see a status banner in the editor. If something needs attention, you'll get specific feedback on which sections to improve. When other users see your manuscript before matching, personal details like names, employers, and phone numbers are automatically hidden — they're only revealed after you both choose to connect.
You can now report users who violate community guidelines. While reading a manuscript, tap the author's name and select a reason. In chat, long-press any message to flag it for review. Reporting permanently hides the user from your feed and shows a confirmation toast. In chat, the match ends immediately and both users return to swiping.
If your age verification photo is rejected, the app now shows you why and lets you upload a new photo right away. While your new photo is being reviewed, you'll see a "under review" status screen. Swiping, notifications, and chat are locked until verification is complete — but your home and profile remain accessible.
When you've swiped through all manuscripts, the screen now shows a clean "come back later" message instead of statistics. The subscription screen in the Readers tab now has a close button so you can go back. Users who are currently matched no longer appear in other people's feeds. City suggestions now work globally when using the English interface — type any city in the world during onboarding or profile editing.
The landing page hero portrait now rotates randomly — each visit shows a different featured person instead of always the same one.
Age verification is now a two-step process: first scan your passport, then take a selfie with it. The passport scan uses automatic text recognition — if it reads your data successfully, you're verified instantly. If not, you take a selfie with your passport for manual review. After submitting, you can use the app right away — verification usually completes within 24 hours.
The age verification flow is now clearer: instructions say "hold your passport next to your face" instead of technical MRZ jargon. The camera preview no longer shows a black screen. The "Upload photo" button on mobile now opens your gallery instead of the camera. The drop zone has proper spacing and shows a helpful illustration. After submitting for manual review you now see a clear confirmation screen with a checkmark. If you're offline or the server is down, your photo is saved locally and submitted automatically when the connection is restored.
The notifications tab is now "Your Readers." Instead of blurred placeholders, you can see exactly who read your manuscript and what they highlighted — the passages they liked and the ones they didn't. Unfair Advantage users can also read their readers' manuscripts and leave per-passage notes on highlights during swiping, like commenting on a Google Doc before you've even matched.
Fixed the age verification screen — text was showing as raw label keys instead of actual words. Added a "Go back" button so you're no longer stuck on the consent screen. All text is now properly translated in both English and Russian.
City suggestions now appear when typing your city during onboarding. The "Fill your manuscript" button on the home screen now correctly switches to "Start Reading" once you've saved your manuscript. Users banned or deleted by moderation are now immediately logged out. The ghost demo animation during onboarding now blocks interaction until it finishes. Writing three bio entries during onboarding now advances automatically instead of showing an unclickable preview. The undo button in the swipe view is now a premium-only feature.
The paywall got a makeover. Plans are now reordered so you see the full picture before choosing — and each one shows how much it costs per day. There's also a new annual billing option for "I Want to Read" that saves you two months compared to quarterly. The "Save 2 months" badge makes it easy to spot.
