Subscription gifts now arrive live

When Anketta gifts you days on your subscription (a goodwill credit from us, or anything similar in the future), you now find out the moment it happens — a toast pops in the top of the app, a small gold celebration card opens over the page, and every screen that depends on your subscription (the reader-tab pass, your profile) reflects the new tier right away. Before, you had to refresh the page to see anything change. If your tab is closed when the gift lands, the push notification still wakes you up; the next time you open Anketta the new tier is already there.

Tabs open during a deploy auto-recover

If you had Anketta open during one of our updates and tapped to a part of the app you hadn't visited yet, the page sometimes couldn't find a piece of itself and got stuck on a blank screen. Now the app notices that, refreshes itself once in the background, and you land on the new version without ever seeing the broken state.

Network blips no longer surface as errors

Sometimes the connection to our servers blinks for a split second. Before, that little blink could turn into an error on your screen. Now the app just tries again on its own, and you keep going.

Deploys no longer break mid-action

Previously the app could glitch when we shipped an update — a swipe, like, or chat message sent at exactly the wrong second might quietly fail. Fixed. Updates now go out without breaking what you're doing.

Language toggle persists across refresh

The language toggle in your profile now sticks. Switching English ↔ Russian and refreshing the page used to sometimes snap back to the previous language — under the hood the app was leaving two copies of the language preference in your browser with slightly different settings, and on refresh the older one occasionally won. We've routed the switch through a single, consistent path and quietly clean up any stale duplicate left over from before, so the language you pick is the language you keep.

A nudge so we know what's working

Sign-up has one new step near the end: a short tap-pick of where you heard about Anketta — friend, social, search, news, ad, or other. Most picks open a small optional note where you can drop a link or a few words; "Other" asks for a brief description so we know what you mean. It only shows once when you set up, and accounts that already exist won't see it. Helps us put effort where it actually reaches new readers.

Live toasts and tap-to-claim referral rewards

The referral program got two big upgrades. First, when a friend you invited finishes signing up, you'll now see a live toast in the app the moment it happens (and a push notification if you're not on the app at the time) — no more wondering whether your invite landed. Second, the rewards no longer wait silently for the next hourly batch. Each milestone — your friend signing up, your friend finishing onboarding, your friend starting any paid subscription — surfaces as its own claim button in the "Invited friends" sheet, with the days waiting for you to tap. Crossing 1, 3, 5, 10 or 20 friends fires a gold celebration sheet on the claim that crossed it. Friends you invited also see their own welcome card the first time they reach the home screen, so they understand right away that they got a free trial and that paying once gets them another bonus. The rail no longer shows "1 friend remaining" while you have someone sitting on "pending" — it now reflects what you've actually claimed.

Yandex and Gmail aliases land you in the right account

If you ever signed up with a Yandex address and later came back trying one of its aliases (yandex.ru, ya.ru, yandex.com, narod.ru and the rest — Yandex delivers them all to the same mailbox), the app would sometimes treat it as a brand-new email and quietly start a fresh, empty account. The same could happen on Gmail (gmail.com ↔ googlemail.com, dots in the username, +something suffixes). We now recognize all of those as the same address — type whichever variant you remember, the code still lands in your usual inbox, and the account that opens is the one you actually have.

Onboarding polish pass

A pass of polish across onboarding. The date-of-birth picker on the "A bit about you" step now keeps your selection across page reloads — it had been quietly resetting to the default — and on a computer you can click directly on a month, day, or year, or grab the barrel with the mouse and drag it. The "This is how it works" tutorial moves through the swipe lesson noticeably faster (the heart-and-cross half is half as long, the back-button half is a third shorter), and once the tutorial puts you on the second sample profile, the back button now pulses gently so you don't stall wondering what's clickable. In the bio editor — both the onboarding "Tell us about yourself" step and the in-app version — the little ↑↓ A a ✕ controls no longer float above a header or paragraph when there's only one of them; they only appear once moving or removing actually does something. On the community-values step on a computer, the cards no longer warp under your cursor when you start to click (so the consent checkbox stays exactly where you aimed), the checkboxes accept the moment you press, and there are now glass-style left/right arrows on the sides for browsing the cards. The final email step in onboarding had an English placeholder ("[email protected]") in the Russian interface — that's translated. And the moon/sun toggle on the login screen has a bit more space at the top so it doesn't graze the status bar.

Passkeys: tucked into App Settings, smarter login screen

The passkey setup moved out of the long profile page into its own row inside App Settings (right next to Theme, Font, and Language) — tap "Set up Touch ID / Face ID" (or Windows Hello / fingerprint, depending on your device) and you land on a dedicated page with the list, the Add button, and not much else. The login screen got the same treatment from a different angle: brand-new browsers no longer see the passkey button at all (you can't have a passkey on a device you've never signed in on), and if you do hit Cancel on the system prompt, the helper text below now reads in calm grey instead of looking like a red error — it was just a nudge to use email instead, and it should look like one.

Passkey sign-in button: one-line label

Quick polish from yesterday's passkey update. The new platform-aware sign-in button ("Continue with Touch ID / Face ID" and friends) had been wrapping onto two lines on phone widths because it was forced into all-caps with extra letter spacing — proper nouns like "Touch ID" and "Face ID" now render in their natural casing, fit on one line, and read as the brand names they are.
